ABA​ Bank,​ Cambodia’s​ largest​ commercial​ bank1,​ strengthens​ its​ commitment​ to​ supporting​ youths​ in​ their​ educational​ journey​ by​ donating​ 20​ sets​ of​ computers​ to​ Hun​ Sen​ Pramoey​ High​ School​ in​ Veal​ Veng​ district,​ Pursat​ province.​

The​ donation​ handover​ was​ held​ on​ 29​ June​ 2024​ and​ attended​ by​ ABA​ Bank​ representatives,​ the​ school​ principal,​ the​ governor​ of​ the​ Veal​ Veng​ district,​ and​ students.

“In​ this​ age,​ computer​ literacy​ is​ crucial​ for​ students​ pursuing​ higher​ education,”​ said​ Dalen​ Ath,​ Chief​ Administrative​ Officer​ at​ ABA​ Bank​ who​ represented​ ABA​ in​ the​ donation​ handover​ ceremony.​ “Universities​ require​ digital​ proficiency​ for​ assignments​ and​ projects.​ This​ donation​ will​ equip​ students​ with​ the​ skills​ they​ need​ to​ succeed​ in​ university​ and​ future​ careers.”

Hun​ Sen​ Pramoey​ High​ School’s​ principal,​ Houn​ Sitha,​ expressed​ appreciation​ for​ ABA’s​ Bank​ contribution.​ “We​ are​ incredibly​ grateful​ for​ these​ desktops.​ They​ will​ be​ a​ valuable​ resource​ for​ our​ students.​ Thank​ you,​ ABA​ Bank,​ for​ helping​ them​ acquire​ the​ technological​ skills​ they​ need​ for​ their​ future.”

Education​ is​ a​ core​ focus​ of​ the​ ABA​ Bank’s​ Corporate​ Social​ Responsibility​ (CSR)​ Framework.​ The​ Bank​ is​ dedicated​ to​ ensuring​ all​ Cambodian​ youth​ have​ access​ to​ quality​ education​ and​ opportunities​ to​ reach​ their​ full​ potential.

In​ 2023,​ ABA​ donated​ IT​ equipment​ to​ Passerelles​ Numériques​ Cambodia​ (PNC),​ an​ NGO​ that​ provides​ digital​ education​ and​ training​ to​ underprivileged​ youth.​ The​ Bank​ also​ established​ a​ computer​ lab​ with​ 15​ desktops​ at​ Hun​ Sen​ Kampong​ Ro​ High​ School.​ This​ initiative​ empowers​ students​ with​ the​ necessary​ technology​ skills​ to​ thrive​ in​ the​ digital​ age.
