Senior Database Administrator

Job Purpose

The job purpose of a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is to manage and maintain the Bank's databases, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with business requirements.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Design, implement, and maintain MSSQL, MYSQL and Postgres database systems.
• Responsible for planning database backup, recovery and tuninn.
• Installation and updating of new software – install new versions of MS SQL Server database software, MYSQL database software, and Postgres database software.
• Maintaining secure storage of databases backup.Arranging stand-by database, Database clustering and disaster recovery of databases.
• Troubleshooting any MS SQL Server, MYSQL database and Postgres database problems.
• Ensuring maximum uptime.
• Ensuring maximum performance.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patches as required.
• Stay current with MSSQL, MYSQL, Postgres technologies and best practices.
• Maintenance of database servers, core banking application servers and related servers.
• Controlling access permissions and privileges of databases.Development and testing support – helping programmer and software engineers to efficiently utilize the database.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Restoring database to testing environment (UAT) to ensure that the backups are fully recoverable and functioning.
• Banking Support – Support running Coral EOD.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related fieldDatabase Administrator Certified is preferableIf there is no certification, SQL and PL/SQL skills are mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as DBA
• Other certificates (Oracle Database Performance and Tuning Certified Implementation Specialist, Oracle Real Application Clusters Certified Implementation Specialist, ... etc) are advantage
• Experience with Linux System Administration
• Must be available to work night time shift
• Be honest, quick learner, flexible and punctual
• Willing to work as a teamWilling to obey the rule and discipline
• Willing to learn new technology and more self-motivation and self-study
• Good English and Khmer communication (both written and spoken)
• Able to work longer hours under minimum supervision and under pressure
• Able to solve problem independently
